Hovercard by Prashant Chaudhary takes tool tips to a different level and different uses. Hover over text and a card appears, centered on the keyword in your text. It is easier to see than to explain, so take at the example below:
Update: Sorry, this plugin is no longer updated and is not working.
jQuery by [hovercard keyword=”John Resig” id=”hc1″ img=”http://ejohn.org/files/short.sm.jpg” ]John Resig is an application developer at Khan Academy. He was a JavaScript tool developer for the Mozilla Corporation and also the creator and lead developer of the jQuery JavaScript library. [/hovercard] is a cross-browser JS library designed to simplify the client-side scripting of HTML. It was released in January of 2006 at BarCamp NYC. Used by over 46% of the 10,000 most visited websites, it’s the most popular JavaScript library in use today.
Hover over “John Resig” and a card pops up with his information. This could be used in many different ways – for product information, employee contact information, or citations are just a few examples.
