JQuery is a javascript framework that I use quite a lot to add functionality to websites. It simplifies validating forms, creating buttons that change or images that scroll. JQuery Masonry builds on the basic framework and allows designers to break out of the sidebar-content-sidebar mold. Masonry treats blocks of text or images (or both!) like bricks that can fit together in many different ways. Check out these sites that use Masonry (note they were not built by me):
